Scientific Departments
Department of Engineering Applications
Computer Vision Program
This program aims to equip students with advanced knowledge of artificial intelligence techniques in computer vision, enhancing their skills in using computers to automatically understand and interpret visual images. It also prepares them to work as specialists in the field of computer vision within both the public and private sectors.
Robotics and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Program
This program aims to enable students to gain proficiency in programming, simulation, and deployment of intelligent robots using advanced tools such as the Robot Operating System (ROS). It prepares them to address key challenges in robotics, including human-robot collaboration, swarm intelligence, and autonomous decision-making, while promoting the application of AI-powered robotics in tackling global challenges through industrial automation, assistive technologies, and sustainable solutions. Graduates will acquire the skills necessary to integrate artificial intelligence with robotic systems in diverse applications such as autonomous vehicles, medical robots, and collaborative robots in smart manufacturing environments.
Department of Biomedical Applications
Bioinformatics Program
This program equips students with the interdisciplinary skills needed to address complex biological problems using AI-based solutions, with a strong emphasis on computational methods, machine learning, and high-throughput data analysis. It prepares graduates for impactful careers at the forefront of biomedical research and biotechnology, as bioinformatics is often described as the future of biological research—bringing together all areas of biology, including genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, and physiology, with computer science, statistics, and applied mathematics.
Digital Health and Medical Diagnostics Program
This program aims to develop artificial intelligence technologies for analyzing medical data, improving diagnostic accuracy, and creating clinical decision support systems to assist physicians in making precise treatment decisions. It also focuses on medical imaging and radiology analysis using deep learning, predicting chronic diseases through predictive models, and developing AI applications in robotic surgery and personalized medicine. Additionally, it examines the impact of AI on digital health and the analysis of electronic medical records.
Department of Big Data
Data Science
This department offers a single postgraduate program titled Data Science. The program aims to equip students with advanced analytical, computational, and machine learning skills to extract valuable insights from complex datasets. It also fosters innovation and research in AI-based solutions to address real-world challenges in business, healthcare, finance, and technology. Furthermore, the program emphasizes ethical AI practices by ensuring responsible data use, fairness, and transparency in AI models, while leveraging the latest big data, cloud computing, and AI technologies to enhance decision-making and automation.
Admission and Application Guidelines for Postgraduate Programs
- Applicants to the master's program must have a minimum grade average of 70%
- Postgraduate (Master’s) applicants must take the competitive examination, which accounts for 20% of the differential average, and attend an interview. Competition for admission is limited exclusively to those who pass the exam. A special interview form, tailored to the specific nature of applications to this college, will be used, and the interview score will constitute 10% of the differential average.
- Applicants to the master’s program must pass the national unified English language proficiency test with a score of no less than 75%, or achieve a minimum score of 5.0 in IELTS, or a minimum score of 500 in TOEFL.
- Applicants to the master’s program must pass the national computer proficiency test with a score of no less than 75%.
- Applicants to the master’s program are not required to take the national unified Arabic language examination due to the specific nature of studies in this college.
Notes
The national examinations (English language and computer proficiency) shall be held exclusively at public universities from August 1, 2025, until the end of the official working day on September 3, 2025, with two examinations conducted daily (computer proficiency at 10:00 am and English language at 12:00 pm).
Please note that the submission of paper documents will take place at the Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering.
